New High Score Chevy Dealer Asking $100K Over MSRP for the 2023 Corvette Z06

When it comes to unprecedented demand for the 2023 Corvette Z06, some dealers are handling it better than others.

A few months ago we shared a letter from GM’s Steve Carlisle who suggested that dealers would be put on notice when it comes to the shady dealings of these in-demand vehicles.

Despite plenty of evidence of price gouging and other shady schemes like having to make charitable donations before being approved to buy a Z06.

We are continually told that dealers are independent businesses that can price their vehicles at whatever price they want.

Sadly, Corvette buyers are having to accept that fact with little recourse available other than an occasional public shaming, which again doesn’t seem to be deterring dealers from asking six figures over the price of a car.

It’s a pretty crappy situation all the way around and even I am having trouble keeping the outrage meter on high.

These days, the thought of a Chevrolet dealer charging $100,000 over MSRP is met with a shrug.

If public shaming is our only recourse for dealers charging ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS over MSRP, then let me fire up my megaphone and turn the BLAST meter up to 11 because the “family” dealership like this one in our own home market deserves to be blasted.

I would suggest taking ALL of your car-buying business elsewhere…and never go back. There are over 3,000 Chevrolet dealers in the country.

It’s time to reconsider past relationships and buy vehicles from those dealers that want your business, not just your money.
